Ethiopian Airlines aircraft skids off runway

An Ethiopian Airlines DHC 8-400 populary known as the Dash 8-Q400 was involved in an accident. The 5 year old plane, which was delivered new to Ethiopian Airlines was operating from Addis Ababa (ADD, Ethiopia) to Mekele (MQX, Ethiopia).

The cause of the accident is unclear, but the left-hand main landing gear collapsed on landing, causing the aircraft to veer off the runway. It eventually came to a stop on its belly, resulting in damage to the propeller blades and undercarriage.
